My Story
Megumi is a special sushi restaurant with two locations in Louisiana (Madisonville and Mandeville). Megumi is home to some of the most talented chefs, whom I was honored to work alongside. I worked here for three years before heading off to college.
Megumi Sushi Restaurant
Master Chef Lulu (owner at Megumi) mentored me when I was 16 years old, teaching me classical ways and techniques of sushi. He taught me his incredible skills and allowed me to appreciate taste. One of the best lessons I was taught was that
"it's not about how much or how little; it's about the balance; this is the role of the sushi chef."
Master Sushi Chef Lulu
Sushi is about the beauty of fish. A chef may create amazing tastes out of different herbs, spices, etc., but fish can take different forms, tastes, and textures. It is the role of the sushi chef to expand on these attributes, enhancing each one while at the same time creating a piece of art.

Louisiana is surrounded by beautiful coastal waters where fish is in abundance. Sourcing fresh sushi-grade fish and shellfish is a unique skill, one in which I learned during my travels through Japan. Each type of fish or shellfish I've chosen has been researched and viewed at the source, in person, by me.
